Description

Inspired by kid 606's 'Straight Outta Compton mc dsp mix', this is a drill 'n' bass remix of Gwen Stefani's 'Hollaback Girl' using only the original track.

This is just three Utrks (full track, instrumental, and a capella versions) and a bunch of effects. Mainly retriggers. Hope you like it, and I'd be grateful for any comments.

felt to much like the original... like if the original song playing thur effects... kinda got bored in the mid of the song. what would have been neat is if you sampled the bass and made a new bassline.... and sampled the drums and made the drums glitch...

That was sort of the idea to be honest (see ref to the kid606 '...Compton' mix). That said, it starts subtle (there's actually a lot going on, like the melody being retuned and drums repositioned - but you probably have to be very well acquainted with the original to spot it all) and gets less so, so I assume by "got bored" you mean "stopped listening" midway - later, there is a new bassline and the drums are massively rearranged. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to listen and comment - 'tis appreciated.

I liked the basic vibe of this one and your sample mutation is niiice but it would have been nice if it gained more momentum and built a bit more. But I'd love to hear more stuff like this so keep 'em coming man!
