  • Yeah, bang your head! Some news from the heavy front. Only the "transverse flute" (or something that sounds like it) interrupts the strong heavy impression. (If this is hard rock, what do bands like "Status Quo" stand for?)

Just because I like fat guitar sound and experience a bit with it, can you give away how the guitar was recorded. Was it a real amp or a simulation? Or was the guitar recorded with some other program? It sounds very cool. Greetings to Josh Calles. Great work. (By the way, I know your homepage and some of your "drumset downloads", good work.)
  • Hi, thanks! Status Quo = classic hard rock! The guitars were recorded with a direct line in to my PC and NI Guitar Rig. Then a lot of love in Buzz with some Voxengo plugins like GlissEQ and TapeBus. peas,
  • Oh, the begining is cool, very hard rock (reminds me Nine Inch Nails, thou I listened only few of their tracks), very well programmed drums (and i guess some live as well), but then comes that Chinese-like synth and, in my humble opinion, ruins the entire atmosphere.

Not to mention that the tune is very repetitive, a single guitar riff, I waited till the end when it will change the pace, burst into something with fast drums and solo... but it ended just as begun with that single overdriven guitar riff. Don't get me wrong , I liked the mood and instruments, the quality is very good, but I must say it should be more elaborate. Anyway, we are here to express opinions on each other's music, and if I did it to straight, my apologize. Thanks for sharing the tune!

  • @Serg: Hey, no problem. Thanks for the crits. Maybe some background on the tune will clear up why it is the way it is. This is actually for a project I'm doing to make lots of, "Command and Conquer: Red Alert" themed music. The music in that game was a mix of rock, electronica, pop, funk and lots of other things. That's where the chinese synth and some of the other odd choices in the other tracks (which you haven't heard yet) come from. Like the 80's orchestra hits and 303's in the tracks you'll hear next. It's all part of the project's style. This isn't supposed to be a backing track for a rock band. It's for a video game. So yeah, that's why it's like that and also repetitive and there aren't any solos as it's just background music for the game. peas!
  • Very nice tune. Original blend of styles. The Chinese-like synth sounds really great imo, but that's maybe a matter of taste. The mix is excellent, clean and well-balanced but rough enough around the edges. Very good work !
  • Awesome! Great metal with a little Massive Attack touch! A must listen! I like it very much!
  • as the 666th listener to this track, I declare it good as heck
