Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra

If someone is interested in a good orchestral sampled sound library, there is one called SSO Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra. While not as advanced or ambitious in scope as commercial offerings, SSO contains all the basic building blocks for creating real virtual orchestrations. It's primarily aimed at beginners, but also more experienced composers looking for something lightweight and/or portable might find it useful. The format used is SFZ so pick up a VSTi player with SFZ support (RGCAudio, Cakewalk) and use this really good library.

SSO comes in a single 440Mb zip archive that unpacks to 503Mb. Try to the demo at the SSO home page and... good music to all!

  • Great recommendation Paolo I was having hard times trying to get my hands on a virtual orchestra solution that sounded good and could be not too much expensive (or possibly free). Thanks!
  • This is ought to be nice for those who can't afford expensive libraries. I'm thinking about downloading this anyway even though I already own East West QL SO Gold, QL Goliath and QL Ra.
  • Cool, thanks paolo
  • Nice waves. Thanks a lot. Now I'm gonna convert them all to XRNI

    Hello friends,
I am glad that you are interested in this library.
Also for me, it was a long time that I was looking for something with enough quality and not too heavy in size.
I have not used yet this SSO in deep but from the first tests it seems to me very interesting.
And so  .... Good Orchestrations for you all !
  • He-he, still seedin' the package. Almost 50Gb already
